How do I use web based email?

aDigitalHost uses SmarterMail, an email server from SmarterTools Inc.  SmarterMail is an extremely good email server that offers a very rich choose of user options.

To manage your account via a web browser, simple type in the url http://mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name) and go to the login page.

  • For managing your domain, login with mail@yourdomain.com (with your actual domain name).  The mail@ is your administration account email. NOTE: This account is automatically created for you.

  • You will be prompted to make a few setting the first time you log in.  Setting your Time Zone will mark emails sent and received using your local time zone rather time stamping the emails using the time at the server.

  • You manage the domain email accounts from the domain setting menu.  Hear you can add, email users/accounts, Domain content filtering, spam filtering and more.
  • To the left of the Domain Settings Menu is a setting Menu (note: unless you are the domain email administrator,  you will not have the domain Settings option and will only see the  Reports and Settings options)  This menus allows for users to administer there own email account.

  • Clicking on the 'Help' button in the upper right portion of the screen will you very robust help section that will guide you through administering your email account or if you are the domain administer, guide you through setting up email users/accounts and administering the domain's emails.

  • The left panel (frame) offers a full table of contents.  The right side frame shows the actual selected content
  • You have access to a knowledge base, Forums and more all intended to make your experience using aDigitalHost and SmarterMail a pleasant experience.
